I have done a quck search on here but had loads of returns that dont relate ! So can you turn the lights off ? Especially prior to starting to nAid this .. Thanks & apologies Cheers Dean
On the later bikes you can't. Euro bollox rules mean the headlight comes on with the ignition. On thumbing the starter it automatically switches off to save the battery and once the engine fires comes back on. I understand if you fit the earlier switch gear to the later bikes then you can switch the lights off manually.
I bought the switch gear from an earlier model to put on my 06 . It fits and works without any other wiring or electrical parts . It looks exactly the same other that it has the switch lever on there .
Hey, I have an 2005 999, if you turn the ignition to 'on' but don't start the bike, leave it there for a good 2 minutes, the headlight turns off and stays off, after that flicking the low / high beam does nothing, you have to turn ignition off and on again for light to be back on, I believe this is a standard feature.
