Black boxes, which are not black but designed by a certain Dr Black in case you wondered, will have a limited range if on the sea bed.Whatever has happened, it won't be good news either way for the unfortunate passengers.
Not an Aviator (hate the dam things) This looks the most likely scenario to me so far (You'll probably need to wait 10 seconds for it to load) http://www.businessinsider.com/malaysia-plane-fire-2014-3 John
So, I can be tracked to 6 inches on a mobile phone, and be potentially be done for speeding if I have GPS on, but the authorities can't find a feckin plane?... Coverup springs to mind, or some mad country blew it up!
i recon there would only be two reasons why it would be kept a secret. negotiating a hostage situation. or worried what missing plane would be used for.
There are too many theories........some of which have credibility and some are just simply daft.......... If it was hi-jacked, then one which stacks up quite well IMO, is that the 'pilot'?? took the plane to high altitude and turned off the oxygen / de-pressurised the plane while he had his own oxygen supply (maybe the cabin has it's own supply??). That would have done for all the passengers before they had a chance to use their phones. He then dropped to 4,000 feet and flew under the radar to wherever the 'pilot'?? had decided to take the plane........looking at all the potential destinations it could have reached, maybe Iran is just possible. On the other hand, maybe it's just as daft as some of the other theories.
Easily explained as an electrical fire, the pilot doing what he was taught to do, and the plane not making it to the airport... http://www.wired.com/autopia/2014/03/mh370-electrical-fire/ (edit: same article source as Old Jock posted above, just different format)
Surely someone on board had a mobile phone. Even an iPhone. Just use 'Find My iPhone' and hey presto.
Doubt it in the same article as Old Jock posted at bottom there is a "Update" where they asked other 777 pilots about that theory. All were sceptical as 1st thing you do in case of fire is oxygen masks on. Also if it did go towards nearest airport and did not land there as lets say they were all dead by then radars over that airport would pick it up/something up. Finally even if you have fire on board unless it ignaties instand and destroys all computer systems instant it would communicate to ground that there is fire alarm going off at the same time pilots got fire alarm warning. So there would be an update from computer systems about that before they were shut down to try and isolate fire. Also pilots would not kill all systems in one go but it would by systematic while in this case two major systems that send info about plane went down 1st. Look at the french plane that went missing, initially they "knew" speed dropped and autopilot disengaged and they had data about plane until it hit the water. Thing is that was just mechanical data (on board computer systems, engines and so on) hence took them a while to figure out what went wrong.
Where did this fire suddenly come from? (electrical or otherwise)..........Is there a psychic on the job now?
Lucaz you do have a point for sure. I posted as I tend to follow Occam's Razor principals with this sort of thing. Although all the conspiracy theories could have an element of truth, the investigation results are usually more mundane (but I'll give you not always) Al it was just theory to explain the shutting down of the transponders. As far as I'm aware more aircraft have caught fire than had a crew member murder all his passengers and then spirit his aircraft under radar to non disclosed location But that's just the way I see it John
I wasn't having a dig...........I was purely showing how 'fanciful' all the theories are without a shred of evidence as such........ .................but I do wonder if the CIA know something they aren't saying...................(see? Just done it again).
americans spent billions developing stealth bombers, why didn't they just charter a boeing from Malaysia?
Sherlock Holmes always says "When you have eliminated the impossible, Watson, all you left with is the improbable." Or words to that effect. The one obvious thing about this mystery is that the authorities know a fair bit more, and sooner, than they are telling the media. Are we surprised?
