Goddamn Immobilisers

  1. I have one on my 916. A datatool. Came with the bike. Along with only 1 beeper key fob thingy. I bought another but i cannot get the fecker to work with it. My current fob is a tad tired and temperamental. To be honest I'd love to remove the damn thing altogether. But I dont know how without fecking it all up. I even considered buying a whole new loom just to get rid of it.

Anyone know how? Considering every wire is black.

  2. I've removed quite a few immobiliser/alarms. It's usually quite straight forward. If an immobiliser wire tees off an original loom wire it can be cut. If the original wire is cut and both ends are joined to immobiliser wires, remove the immobiliser wires and re-join the original wire.
I've seen one immobiliser fitted on a 916 that plugged into the OEM connectors so it was just a case of unplugging all the immobiliser and re-connecting the loom connectors to their mating halves.
The 748/916 has a connector in the fuel pump feed wire that many immobilisers utilise to break the supply to the pump.
    That's about it.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  3. I took my alarm off a couple of years back.I cant remember exactly but it was straight forward.I think just a case of removing power supply wires/earths etc and rejoining a fuel pump connection. If I can do it,anyone can.

  4. google it like i did , bridge 2 of the wires in the unit to disable the little fu@@er more hassle than they are worth , i just cut off 2 bits of wire bridged the 2 wires together and yep worked perfect , i got told off for saying on the forum but was very easy to find on the web the hardest bit was getting to the black box on the old multi i had and it was held together with security torx screws so had to buy the tools from maplins cost about £10

  5. Thanks I will try it myself. Hateful thing that it is.

  6. Don't get me started on alarms/immobilisers.... Grrr

  7. I too had one of these feckin datatool things on my suzuki that constantly pissed me off. My mate fits them and it took him about 30 seconds to chop the thing out. I was not paying attention, sorry, but did see him solder something after a few snips.
