848 which loctite to use?

  1. evening all

just picked up the 848 and well chuffed!
will try to get the insurance sorted tomorrow & out for my first blast, weather permitting, over the weekend.
on closer inspection while loading her into my van, i noticed 2 things. 1st being the gear change pedal rubber. it's missing. called ducati leeds & they have them in stock and at only £5 each. sorted.
the 2nd thing was that one of the bolts from the lower part of the mid fairing is missing. hence the title...
i'd just like to know which loctite people are using in general cause i want to whip the bolts out & get them loctited in before i loose any more. also, are the fairing bolts available separately from the dealers or do you have to buy the job lot?

    br, ian

  2. For light use i use 222

  3. cheers, mate. i'll get some tomorrow.
bike's insured! just praying for decent weather now!

  4. Yep you can get the bolts separately. I use blue loctite

  5. thanx, mate

  6. whats the difference between 222 and 242 - cant seem to find 222 on the loctite site. Discontinued so any on sale now will expire soon(ish)?

  7. Just ask for any thread lock stuff and the dealer should know. If they give you the strong stuff you will have a right job undoing the bolts!

  8. 222 (pink) is a low strength, 242(blue)is a medium one.
    Avoid 270 for general use.
