On previous bikes I have simply slackened off the Allen bolts slightly and raised them a few mm, has anyone done the same on the 899?
Yep I also find them too low, but I will be getting adjustable shortly levers soon as I hate those big long cumbersome ones.
Depends how tall you are. In general if you rest your fingers on the levers your wrist should more or less be in a straight line with the arm to avoid tension in the wrist causing numbness, carpel Tunnel etc. The taller you are the lower the levers need to be to achieve something near that and vice versa. At 6ft 4 every bike I have ever owned has had the oem setup too high. On the Ducati and the Aprilia I had before I had to remove the locating pin on the switchgear to allow the levers and switches to rotate further round the bar than they will stock.
Is that a polite way of saying we are short arses? Im 5'10" but like ive said I find them angled a bit to low for my liking, I guess we all have our own prefernce on how we like the levers setup.
I'm finding my wrist gets quite achey on the braking side - wondering if it could be down to lever positioning. I think I'm 5'10"ish too.
I find i have to do this on all bikes. My main gripe with my 1198 is i find the bars are too angled in and the raised rubber on the end of the grip can hurt my palm. But 1198 clip ons cannot be rotated a bit. So maybe I need some that can.
