Hi Guy's I'm having difficulty with my ageing limbs to ride my Foggy due to the positioning of the bars, i have seen these (see link) that would appear to do the job. Has any one any experience of this mod or has anyone got other recomendations?Billet Clip on Handle Bar for Ducati 748 916 996 998 848 1098 1198 R S | eBay Cheers Bazzer
Hi Bazzer I've not got experiance of those particular bars, however there is an alternative. Un clamp the the bars and swapp left for right and vise versa and install 180 degrees round. This will help to "flatten" out the bars, also another trick if its the clutch action thats causing issues is to rotate the clutch leaver down so that the angle made by your wrist and the clutch leaver is reduced. Failing that I went down the Heli route as they've re-released the kit for the 916 which give a slight rise which takes a lot of my pie sodden weight off my wrists
I had bought this type of half handlebars. They are not practical of the whole, because they needs to move the jars of brake fluid and clutch, because otherwise they come to bang(type) in the head of fork.
I have Cyclecat bars on mine; DBR1 Ducati 748-916-996-998 Bar Mounting System adjustable for height and angle plus the bars are longer. You are limited on the adjustments by the fairing but they do work well and are top quality.
