Yeah, does look like the normal shite. But, my man mcgyver could take an 848 & turn it into a 1198r with just them tools!
It has the c spanner and the front wheel spindle aligning tool etc. Buy one. Keep it under pass seat/cowl.
Dude.. come ON.. You're talking to a guy here who changed a front sprocket with a hammer / elastic band & a bog roll last night!!
The same guy who did not want to loosen the rear. Then the guy that wonders why the chain might be slack now that they'd put on a smaller sprocket. Ahem...:Angelic: (no one mention my side stand debacle please)
Pffft... the mere splitting of hairs old chap!! There is nothing a totally naive Midlander on a mission cannot achieve (apart from sounding intelligent)
Ok, just a thought... Can't you pack the sprocket out with a bit of bog roll just to take up the slack?
If you mount your tax disc holder correctly you can use it to take the slack out of your chain. As long as you have the pressed steel one with the rubber seal around its periphery. Just rotate it to press against the chain.
Now you are just mocking me..... Already one step ahead though, mines a glass tube jobbie that now acts as a chain tensioner.... Your idea is daft, the edge is too thin & the chain would slip off....
Annd back... So the bog roll spacer / glass tensioner held.... I fully recommend this upgrade to those who are thinking about it... Not a major change all in but a much better balance through the gears & I cant help feel this is what the 848 should be like off the shelf... Quickshifter would complement the -1 upgrade though especially since 1st gear is pretty much redundant.... Im well happy
