Non starting after washing

  1. Hi all,

In my desperate bid to get my 749s looking like it had just left the factory bolognia i made the fatal error of washing it. Now taking on board that it is a ducati i did not for one minute realise exactly how fragile it really is, since washing it will not start or even turn over! I've got error codes 37.3 and 38. The coolant temp is flashing 0 degrees and the key symbol is also flashing as well as the engine management light being on. Now i can only assume i have got water in some where where water shouldnt be. If anyone could help steer me in the right direction that would be great, because at the moment it is in the hallway next to a radiator with the heating on which is not going down well.

Many thanks for any help, Matt.

  2. My Multistrada 1000DS had the same problem after I washed it on the day I was selling it. The problem was rectified by using the master key ( red top) instead of the normal key, which re set everything, as per the advice of JHP Coventry. Dont know whether the 749 has the same ignition set up. Worth a try anyway
