Ducati Aylesbury - Any Good?

  1. I need to get my 848 serviced before I go to IoM for the TT. I would normally go to Rich at Louigi Moto but a move has meant that Ducati Aylesbury is closer.

Anyone got any experience or advice on them? Prices ok?? Only need the standard service doing, no belts!

    Thanks!

  2. I use them and whilst the guys in the shop are good people, the fact that they could / would not do a suspension fitting or tyre replacement meant I now go to Ducati Coventry. No real issues, however, and they seem to want to help.

  3. Moved to dealerships :)

  4. I've used them for the last couple of services but thinking about going to Ducati Coventry instead despite it being a bit further for me (based in Milton Keynes).
No real bad stories but never get the feeling that they're bothered if you go there or not.
I called them on Thursday to try and book my 848 in for service and MOT and phone went to answer phone so I left a message which I am still waiting to hear back from which doesn't exactly make me feel like a valued customer.

  5. Had the same with those guys, never did anything wrong, I just felt like they weren't really that fussed whether I went there or not....so I went to JHP instead.

  6. Nice blokes. Wouldn't want em to do anything more than an oil change. They all wear Kawasaki shirts. I'd go to a dedicated Ducati workshop for anything more than a service.

  7. Very simple,Baines is nearby.

  8. They're better at selling bikes than maintaining them... Bought my Benelli from them - got a good trade-in deal but they lied through their teeth about the bike's history (which ultimately cost them £1200 as I made them put their promises in writing) and when I picked the bike up they hadn't even bothered to lube the chain.

There's no way I'd let them service the Duc.

Having said that I've bought RST Leathers and helmet from them and their prices are keen.

  9. I took a test ride on a 848 demo bike there when I was looking around and asked the salesman to give me a call if any used 848's came in to stock which again I still have never had a call so seems that they don't even want to follow up on potential sales leads.
Having said that, I have purchased a set of leathers and helmet from there as the customer service in the shop is excellent.

  10. I mooched around the showroom last year for a while. No one ever said anything to me. I'd actually gone to pick up brake pads and a battery, which is in a separate building. So had I been a potential bike customer, that was an instant fail.
They were pleasant enough in the parts shop (when I eventually found it), but the brake pads came in two different boxes. I was just about to leave and queried the difference in the packaging. So then they studied them closely - and found they were in the process of selling me the wrong ones.
I just found the whole experience typical of nearly all customer service of any description in the Thames Valley - perhaps the whole of southern England. Perhaps the whole of England.

  11. Never found them very helpful tbh when I've been in there. But never bought owt other than a cap and a bumbag anyway

  12. Their job (should they know or accept it) is to fill you with the desire to buy more than a cap and a bumbag and then sell it to you. And then make sure you are happy with it, and look after it for you (for payment, obviously).

  13. I gave the, lots of chances to sell me a ZX10R, brand new, couple of years ago, travelled 2hrs and felt like Ishould have been thankful the guy gave me 5 mins

  14. Nuff said, really.
If they don't want to even sell you a bike, what are the chances that they want to look after it properly for you?

  15. Sold me my 1198. Sale was over the phone and it was flawless. I'd use them again. Cant comment on servicing but sales was very good.

I love my 1198. Its all the bike i ever need.

  16. No. Had a few bad experienes with then. I don't trust them with my bike.

  17. I bought a 900ss from them a while back and had excellent service. The Trouble sold her 696 Monster last year and they paid a really good price for it and no hassle. I pop in a couple of times a year to mooch around and they are always very friendly .
I think they are fine for basic servicing but as posted above, they are not so far from Silverstone where you have a choice of Baines & Forza Italia, both independents with good reputations who should be cheaper and better customer service too.

  18. I have some friends who swear by them tbf, and only buy from them but have Ducati and other brands. Think they may get servicing at JHP tho

  19. To be fair, that is pretty much what I do nowadays.

  20. Well, I have just phoned Ducati Aylesbury to enquire about getting my service done. My call was answered with a plain 'Hello?' not a 'Ducati Aylesbury, xxx speaking.'. I had to confirm to them that it was Ducati Aylesbury and not a random wrong number. Not good. Anyway, cant get me in til mid June so will be looking elsewhere!
