Chizel that's a really generous offer, I've now managed to pick one up cheap off ebay but it's had to be painted, so yours would have been a better option, once again thanks for the offer.

I'm after a 900SS in the next 6 months, so keep hold of those standard pipes, I might have them off you.
Out of interest how would you compare your 748 with your old 900SS, both on my radar to replace my 600 but I just love the old carbed Supersports
Good question! It was 2 years between owning them so a get off one and on other compare never happened but in a drag race the 900 would have won... I Know that on paper the 748 is faster over a standing quarter but I beat a few on the 900. maybe rose coloured glasses but that 900 did pull like a school boy!!! the 900 was lighter but wore its weight differently altogether (no better turning circle though!!). Im only 5'6 and although ive been riding nearly 30 years and don't find only getting one big toe down a problem, the 900 was a bit easier to climb on and offa! on the 748 I gotta do this with the side stand down. Both handle SUPURBLY! but being more "race" focused the 748 would be the winner there and on top speed.. You are right about the carby ss they rock! and on the soul front the 900 takes it with ease...... But.. I do love the sound of a v2 revving its bollocks out and the higher rev range of the 748 is like sweet music when bouncing off the rev limiter!!! (im a bad man) If you put a gun in my face and said "choose one" id say "shoot me!!!!" Man I miss my SS.... im welling up.....

There's a bloke round my way with a 748 and he didn't outdrag or outrun me.............mind you he was a tall, fat b*****d..........................unlike my lithe, trim self at 5'-6" as well.....
750SS............ .....but all my mates used to say I could get more out of their bikes than they did...... ............that's probably when I had no fear..........but it hurts now.
My mates said the same thing. It was true then When my skills nearly matched the bikes we were riding and I was half the size of them. Now I cant ride a bike to anywhere near what its capable of so the power to weight thing don't count so much..... That and im getting fat!
