  4. totally agree, i hear it all the time, i can that for 2bob cheaper off the web. pisses me off. saying that some times i prefer it on the bigger jobs. NO WARRANTY. and quite often its the wrong part and even more so lower quality.

  5. The MRP for 900 2V belts is now £77.
I know Gates and Dayco supply Ducati but there's a bit of uncertainty if their own are the same spec as ducati branded ones, ie Kevlar content etc.

  7. Dayco do not supply Ducati. All the belts are from Gates. I've seen a few sets of the Dayco in pretty bad shape after pretty low mileages. Pay ya money and takes ya chance ;)

  11. My dealer told me on Saturday that belts from Ducati now only need changing after 5 years, not 2.
There is a mileage thing, but I can't remember what it was. I think he said 12'000 km for the 999. It's more than this for more recent Ducatis. So the constant belt changing is probably a thing of the past. In which case, you may just as well cough up for a set of originals.

  12. The 5 year schedule applies only to the 11 degree motors.... MTS, Diavel and SF848 or 15k. The HYM821 is 5 years also but 22500 miles( IIRC). Everything else is still on 2 years or 12k/15k whichever is/was applicable.

  13. Nelly, could you check that please? I was told 25k for belts and 18 for shims. I could be wrong, but that is what I was told.

  14. Jerry, just checked my info and the belts are 5 years as above including the HYM821. Desmo services (valves etc.) are at 15k with the HYM821 going out to 18k. Belts would be done at this time if it's sooner than 5 years also.
Not sure where the 22500 crept into my head from but it was late and most of the info is quoted to us in km's ;)

  15. beer talking, clearly!

  16. I wish.....
