  1. hi chaps does anyone here use a race gear shift on the road?? i keep getting false neutrals on my bike(road shift),got talking to a chap with a 1098s track bike he runs a race gear shift but with a slipper clutch and said hes never got a false neutral again!! is it worth a try for the road?? cheers.

  2. I do, have done for many years. Always felt more natural to me but I can't see how it will help with false neutrals?

  3. something to do with putting more pressure on the gear lever so it goes into gear properly.

  4. yes, but currently run race on track bike and road on multi. Made it interesting at times today!

  5. I find it too awkward to use a race shift pattern on the road especially at traffic lights. On the track no problem, try it and see what you think but I can't see it will help with false neutrals. Are you sure you don't have some gearbox wear or a badly adjusted\worn selector.

  6. Race shift is far better.. The End

  7. well got the race shifter on,going for a blast saturday il let you know how i get on.

  8. Quick tip. Get in the habit of moving your foot BEFORE you are due to change, i.e. if it coming to a halt/going down the box move it so your toes are under way before you need them. Its a great aid memoir I use to mean I don't have to think all the time.

  9. I Used race shifter on my 750 monster ,swapped it back before selling it,took it for a spin, and kept going into false neutrals very often. Race shift is the way to go.

  10. a poorly adjusted chain can result in false neutrals

  11. cheers bradders il keep that in mind.

  12. ^what funks says is true. It can also make gear changes stickier.

  13. Boots too big or gear selector needs adjusting :Muted:

  14. I am a modest 5'8" thank you very much. :p

  15. And too many cooks gather no moss.... Or something like that, anyhow.

  16. well chaps after the first ride out all went well, had a couple of miss changes but nothing major its a lot easier once i got used to it and no more false neutrals just seems to go into gear far more smoothly now.
