This coming Saturday 28th, a quick trip to Dungeness is planned. @CRYSTALJOHN thinks visiting all the nuclear power stations would be a good way to advertise Ready Brek. Starting point is P&H Crawley about 10:30 with a run through to the Kent coast and along to stop at the station and at least take some coolish (glowing) pictures if we can't get in for the tour.
This is an open invite, we don't have the tour planned so not going into the station proper; it's just an excuse to ride close to radiation. I've driven a similar run in my Caterham a few years ago and managed to get some neat shots of my dayglo car outside the station. Like you said, some good roads around there too. I'm having my suspension setup at P&H first thing Saturday so it's the plan to meet at the coffee shop next to P&H and ride off from there.
surely a 'must have' for you Rob :- Pocket Geiger Counter for iOS - Transform iPhone/iPad into a Radiation Detector | eBay
just ordered 10 of these :- LARGE NUCLEAR RADIATION SYMBOL new EMBROIDERED IRON-ON YELLOW patch WARNING SIGN | eBay
Factor 30 and some cool shades for me. I would advise against attempting to fertilise a female (any species) for a few days afterwards, the last thing we want is some Ducati-obsessed Godzilla causing damage to the Bognor Regis fish and chip run. I'd expect any currently red bike to acquire a certain Pani SL hue...
Chance of thundery showers in the mix this Saturday. If the plant is struck by lighting and melts down we may as well be close by for the free showers to wash the roentgens off. Not sure if the forecast is persistent rain or just an odd shower, worth checking closer to Saturday.
Looking forward to it, even if it rains we will stay warm.. How about thrashing out an itinerary Rob? 7 am at Box? earlier? should we bring our own lead sheeting?
I am going to the local church to get my lead, I hear ancient lead has some annealing properties in it that keeps any wearer safe from harm.
Google baking soda and sea salt as a radiation cure. Religious idiots (that's anyone who believes in a deity in my book) in the US are convinced radiotherapy causes more cancer and are treating radiation sickness using baths of salt. I am having salt on my breakfast tomorrow so should be fine. The Arm 'n' Hammer marketing department disapprove of this post.
Oh, and should have added, I'm at P&H tomorrow @Chris so cannot leave for the forbidden zone until after my suspension setup finishes at about 10:00. Suggest we meet in the cafe next to P&H and leave for the scorched earth from there. We could take in Helmet City on the way to Kent if PeterT wants his jacket or my helmet swap.
