So what have you done today..?

  1. Minor knee surgery is hard enough
Don't think I would like major surgery
Take it easy you don't want to be repairing damage later on because you were in a rush do you now

  2. I'm being bored witless in an Apple "Selling in Education" workshop being delivered (all day) by a Swiss German with no teaching skills and a poor level of spoken French. It's excruciating. I'm way too old for this sort of rubbish but have to attend so that our shop gets the right ticks in the right boxes in order to qualify for our miserable margin. Motivation is very low for initiating complicated projects which earn you nothing.

Fortunately, I have now almost completely switched off and am contributing to this forum instead.

  3. the joys of a corporate life - is the lunch expected to be any good? Good sarnies from a local deli, or will it be a bowl of apples....

  4. Canteen. It will be edible but hardly gastronomic.

  5. oh. Play the 'Identify the school slop' gamer - hide the greens under the mash potato and just eat the burger... throw the jelly and custard on the walls.

  6. Yup, had a strong word with myself and doing absolutely nothing for the rest of the week. Personally I'd have called 'major' something like a complete replacement, but apparently PCL reconstruction using a LARS artificial ligament falls under 'major'

With a recovery period approaching a year it's not exactly a quick nip.

  8. Finished early and picked up my 600SS from a huge service, belts, fluids, plugs, the lot. He did a lot of work and it was a very reasonably bill, which makes a change :upyeah:

I bought mine a year ago and is typical of lots of "hobby" bikes, lots of shine but not much of a proper maintenance regime so it's now spot on and should only need an oil and filter and an annual inspection next year.

Popped in on the way home from work in the car, so plan was to pay, collect the keys, and pick up the bike later in the evening.

Local Vicar was dropping his Guzzi Griso off (not something you see every day!) and I offered him a lift back into Oxford, he asked how I was going to get my bike home, and to cut a long story short, I drove home and he rode my bike home for me complete with dog collar and Davida piss pot helmet, what a top bloke! :)

  9. I've made 8 jars of wild cherry jam. A wild cherry is about the size of a marble and isn't as sweet as a cultivated variety (not that I do much cultivating of mine - it just grows) so they take longer to pick and stone - you've got a few thousand cherries to deal with I suppose. Well all the proper cherries are in the kirsch barrels and I wasn't going to let this lot go to waste. Should be good - it set easily. Time consuming but satisfying.

  11. I used to play cricket with the local vic, he was a terrible tall story teller especially about his bowling for the Clergy, used to drive to the ground having enjoyed a nice bottle of red at Mrs so and so's before the match but was a great laugh and very enjoyable company. Never brought his job with him and I only saw him admonish the captain when the vicar having taken a sharp catch in the slips, the young skipper exclaimed caught by the hand of GOD in a a loud voice, even the batsman laughed. He was one of the few people i wanted to talk to when my brother died and Im not religious. Yours is a great story.
