Hello all looking for suggestions and ideas.... I have got a Hypermotard 796, currently fitted with a Full arrow exhaust system. I have been chatting with my local bike tuner and have been discussing fuel management system and I can't make my mind up. The power commander system doesn't allow adjusted of the closed loop area. Bazzaz do a system that will allow this but I have little experiences of there products. Any ideas or suggestions? Also I am looking for a quickshifter for my hypermotard but struggling to find one, any ideas? A performance air filter will also be fitted to the bike.
Get the original ECU remapped. About the same price and you get more adjustability. JHP and CJS are two companies that do this.
Didn't think of this, will see if my guy can do this and if not will try the companies you suggested.
ECU map of you intend to do nothing else to the bike, otherwise pC is cheaper and more avaiable for remap if you do
Apparently the ECU reflash won't remove the closed loop in the fuelling, neither does the power commander. The bazzaz does remove this and is cheaper but I haven't heard much about how good the product is. Has anybody here used bazzaz equipment before?
If you mean lambda deactivation the ECU remap does this according to cjs. CJS RACING Motorcycle Dyno Tuning Ducati & Superbikes Bristol ECU Custom Mapping
A full custom map is exactly that, it changes everything afaif incl removing immobiliser and emissions stuff
Btw reflash and custom map are not the same. Many can do a reflash for a few quid, a custom map is hours on the dyno and can be £500
I had my Triumph booked in at BSD Performance at Peterborough - until I traded it in for the Streetfighter. Their custom ECU reprogramme was about £100 cheaper than a Power Commander. I spoke to them about a reprogramme to bin the Euro emissions crap on the SF and they said Ducatis were dearer because they had to buy programmes from Ducati to do it. Power Commanders can't work on the ignition, reprogrammes can
Disabling the Lamdas, the EXBV, DQS, DTC and ICV are all possible when doing a reflash. It is also possible to change rev limit, fan cut in temp and start up message.
CJS has done custom maps on both my 749 track bike and my 999 - I'm pleased with the results for both. Costs not dissimilar to fitting PC. Results for the 999 were better than the PCIII that had been previously fitted.
After speaking with a few different tuners all have said that they don't think a reflash will benefit my bike has I won't allow enough adjustment, I think re programming the bikes ECU sounds good. Here's a picture of the bike at the moment, excited to get it finished.
Cjs racing will sort it no bother between 400-475 for custom dyno tune. Give them a ring they'll explain everything. What air filter you getting? Are you doing the airbox mod or something like the MWR?
