Normally I do all my own work, but I'm thinking of getting a major service done professionally as I've just bought the bike and have a lack of time and space. So I want some advice on where to take my bike in the South East, or London. I've looked around on the net and found a few options: MD Racing - £580-620 (-10% if I join Ducati Sporting club which costs 25) Ducati Pro Team - £500-550 (inc free collection/delivery) RossoCorso - no prices listed Or one of the official dealers like Ducati Croydon, Pro-Twins MotoRapido, P&H, Laguna, etc. (no idea how much a main dealer charges??) So many choices, any advice or experiences please share..... Or should I just do it myself???
Up to you really based on budget and what you want done, plus convenience no doubt based on where you are etc. I've been going to Pro Twins for all my services for my 999 and two 848s. Highly recommended based on my experience and worth giving them a call so you can compare estimates.
Sorry, can't remember....all receipts given when I sold the previous bikes and this one hasn't had a major service yet. Give Pete a call and he should be able to help.
I always use Ducati Pro Team, never had anything to complain about, always top work and you don't even have to leave home.
I'd second ProTwins. I used them when I first got a Ducati, went to one of the others on your list and found that they were as expensive as PvT but without the dealer status. I went back to PvT as I had trust issues. Just be clear as to what you want done. Like any organisation, bills can quickly increase!
For me official dealer then Moto Rapido. Other case MD Racing or Rosso Cores. If you go for MD add suspension setup.
Another thumbs up for Ducati Pro-Team I'm very fussy who I let work on my bikes, but anything I don't have to factory tools for goes to Alec.
So far based on the great recommendations (cheers chaps!) it looks like a close choice between PvT and DPT.
Don't think they can be doing that very well either, last time I saw it out it had cobwebs behind the fairing
If you go to Pro Twins get a quote if you can, in my first hand experience their grasp of estimate is "loose". I have no issue with the work the guys do but the costs need to be close to the conversation you had that convinced you to go to them.
