  1. Hi guys

my nose cone has a lot of stone chips so wanted to fit a number board to it. How easy is it to remove the nose cone?

    Cheers

  3. Ok mate so sounds easy, I havent removed side fairings or mirrors yet? So side fairings just the few screws? Then mirrors then 2 screws and it will just lift off? What about head light unit and wiring?

  4. Yup, headlight and its wiring stay put.

  5. As has been said you have 2 dzus fasteners holding the side panels and nose cone together, remove those then remove the two brass (not soft metal) Allen bolts from the mirrors within the nose cone, you then need to pull/lever the mirrors by hand it'll feel tight and as if something is going to break but don't worry.

Now just pull the nose cone forward and away from the headlight, the headlight stays in place and no wires need to be disconnected.

Easiest bike you'll ever have to dissemble.

  6. Wow guys im used to stripping a bloody Jap bike down to naked to get top fairings off, im liking this Ducati already...... What bulbs do the headlights take as might as well put some Philips brighter ones in that I can get cheap?

  7. Had to laugh at this...... 848's have a jap leaning when it comes to fairing strip offs ......so I pretend Emms 748 is the 8 and work on that instead........

  8. My 748 has a H3 55w in the dip and a H1 55w in the main beam. 12 v of course.
    Steve.

  9. Right you lot what a lie...... 5 minutes...... It took me 5 minutes 11 seconds... Not impressed ha ha.... Brilliant thanks guys what an easy job..... The extra few seconds where removing the screen as well.... Ok so will H3 100 watt bulbs be ok or will they melt the wiring????

    Cheers

  10. Miss your brakimg point at 130 going into mallory hairpin??

  11. I think 100w is to high for the 748 as the generator is only 350w , start adding all the ancillarys like head light, tail light, fan, ecu, fuel pump, ets, and with 100w bulbs you will soon exceed the output.
