1200 Decat Pipe

  1. Not dissing is work, he did my Evo and it was great, but I had that done because I was going to race it not because I had akros fitted which, btw, had been fitted with a std ecu for 18 months before they got done

Will it perfectly fuel? No. They dont from the factory. Will it blow it up? Very very unlikely

  2. Bradders I know what your saying and agree, I'm not trying to preach bud all I'm saying is if you mess with the exhaust / remove the cat or change the air in take on any modern bike it will not be set up correctly, the so called smart ecu + o2 sensors on my 2014 mts with up map couldn't I've seen it in black and white, the majority of people who do home mods get away with it true and bloody good luck to them, me personally on a bike worth 20k am not prepared to take the risk of just saying ah that will be ok its running nice, plus you will never realise the bikes true potential :)

  3. Except it will also likely invalidate your insurance and your warranty ;)

  4. I insured my mts with Ducati ins as they had the best quote plus understood the mod's I had done, the mapping can be undone if needed, easily with my up map key ;) your quote probably applies to 90% of bikers with mods on there machines

  5.
  6. Ha lead tech engineer thats me. Only Scotty knows more ;)

  7. Warranty would be invalid with any modifications that change the way the engine works.
Non standard air filter, non ducati workshop, non standard can, oil etc.
Insurance is down to you. My insurer is well aware of my mods and we have an agreed value for replacement.

Bradders are seriously of the position that you could change the end can or de_cat the machine and still have the ducati warranty.? Even yours is probably no longer covered. Just because you changed it back doesn't mean that ducati wouldn't try to invalidate your warranty. They do read this site you know!
Both Italy and the UK where aware of my ohlin fork issue and had seen the photo.

  8. Oh god, the world is falling in, said chicken licken

Changing a can wont invalidate your warranty, unlikely a map in itself will either, but if engine goes pop good luck. I wouldn't have mine mapped until out of warranty.

  9. I'm with bradders on this one in the fact ducati don't dyno every bike so surely thousands are running not at their very best but plenty good enough to remain safe , the previous multi 1200 I had was fitted with a termi and race ecu but really the map on that is a dirty map in the fact it's over fuelled normally to keep real safe , if you are seeking every last bit from your bike then maybe a custom map will be for you but if you just want to free a few ponies up and some noise then decat on its own should be ok , probably most won't do enough mileage to even get into danger

  10. Ducati are watching and hoping what bradders has done will improve the motogp bike

  11. I often ponder if other readers gain anything from these threads?

  12. Thought a non ducati workshop is ok for warranty as long as ducati parts and service schedule followed

  13. I reckon OP will have got loads from it.

And I have some nice 4x2 which would make the GP product work much better than it does now :upyeah:

  14. Ha ha yea I have. Dealer said warranty wouldn't be void. Main reason I was asking . But work must be done by ducati recognised workshop and also a reputable company part. I.e can't get my bro to cut a piece of scaffold and bend it. Also said a map is not needed but would run lumpy.

  15. Warranty is not void with any changes. If the damage caused is the direct result of non OE mod then you will obviously have issues. I had my new multi decat/end can and mapped by Chris two month after buying it new. I've subsequently had 8 warranty claims thus far without any question. Service indicator and mileage reset (clocks replaced) are also done by the dealer without issue. Keep your insurance abreast with all your mods and you wont have any problems there either.

  16. Ducati read this site,, really,, selectively then or why are they still selling bikes with sub standard rear brakes ??????????

  18. I thought the skyhook model was free of the rear brake issues?

  19. I would say more of a slight improvement ha
