Check out Motogadget m-unit simplified wiring diagrams. Gives you an idea of what you need and how simple it would be to wire everything up. The m-unit itself is more than you need if you only need a start button and power to oil / neutral lights and a dash, but is a no brainer for a road loom as it only costs £200.
