After filling up lately, in which I always fill the tank full the fuel gauge does not show a full tank reading on the dash ?, and after putting the ignition back on the fuel gauge just slowly creeps up a bar at a time but only shows the tank about 2/3 full ? I have seen the other thread on fuel sensor error but I have had no error messages or anything to that matter. Mine is a 14 plate Touring S done 3000 miles.
My 14 decided after a fill that I only had 2 bars of fuel & the light stayed on. At next power up (10 miles) I had a full tank & no light. At next (20 miles) I had a half tank of fuel. As Stu says its not an issue (unless you expect a £15K M/C to work out of the box . Just ask your dealer to sort.
I've just had my 2nd sensor replaced in a year under warranty. Pain in the a** but never ran out of fuel luckily. Maybe one of the reasons why i'll be replacing the bike when the warranty run out next year. Good way to keep selling new Ducatis!
Isn't there something in the manual about making sure the bike is in ignition off when refueling? There is a known issue on filling with ignition on, errors on measurement. Probably software related as it has to average out the readings over a long period.
