Evening all, well after a few years away from bikes I'm looking to come back. Previously had Ducati's last one was a 749s, the 899 Panigale has really taken my eye and after reading many threads on hear it seems a good choice. Is anybody able to give a 749 - 899 comparison? Also used prices at the dealers seem a no brainer and the obvious thing would be buy a new one, are there any discounts to be had at the dealers on a new one? I know used private sales are few and far between, but what would you expect used prices for a good sensible milage example. Thanks in advance
Seems most of the discounts are dependent on any existing relationship with your dealer, I sliced a respectable chunk of both list price and discount on accessories.
I can't compare to a 749 but can compare to my 748. 899 is more powerful, more comfortable, turns easier, still has that Ducati corner stability, makes a great noise even on the standard cans which turns heads everywhere and is the best road sportsbike i have ever ridden. My 748 is however still the best looking bike ever made.
7% off list, plus seat cowl and venture shield included. Got the termignoni's free but that was a Ducati promotion. I think all new owners can buy Ducati accessories with a 20% discount for upto 30 days after collecting the bike.
I bought in December, sales are predominantly quiet then. Do you need to buy now or perhaps wait until the dealers are quiet?
I bought my 1199 S a week ago & got Termi cans, factory Ducati Corse rear sets, loads of Ducati carbon & a paddock stand for £21k all in, I think that was a fair deal, sure people can get all that a bit cheaper but this is my 1st Ducati so no real dealer relationship. Im well happy with that
Seems somebody has a problem with size! Probably why he has to buy the bigger engine to make up for shortfalls in other departments
I'm thinking allowed now, but if you owned an 848 then swapped it for an 899 I would imagine you'd notice an increase in power and performance but if you had the 1098/1198 and then bought an 899 then I would imagine it's going to feel a flat at some point through the power range by comparison. That's why I bought the 1199 because I'd come from a 1098. Or am I talking rubbish?.
