1098 Battery Hibernation

  1. I have a 1098 which is garaged now and not used over the winter months. I do not have any power into the garage.

Question is, am I best to completely remove the battery and keep it on trickle indoors or will this affect the Ducati immobiliser or electronics on the bike?

  2. Take it off, keep it indoors and give it a charge once a month. The electronics and immobiliser won't be affected but you may have to reset the dash to miles and celcius (I'm not familiar with the 1098 dash operation).

  3. I take my batteries off and as stated already charge once a month. Blow the tires up to 40psi to prevent flat spots occurring, leave alone till the sun returns in spring.
