Would like to take my 996 on a few track days, but I am a bit concerned that it won't get past the db noise test with the 50 mm termi's. How has everybody else got on. Snetterton is my local track and it is now 102db?
The Snett test is rubbish, my 1098 registered as 103db on standard cans with the baffles in, where as at Brands it recorded as 97.5. If you want to go to Snett and you have some baffles, pop them in. Snett was where they recorded the 1199 at 107db and subsequently told all the other MSV circuits to be very watchfull, which is ironic because Snett is in the middle of flippin nowhere
At Donington on 31 July, when we arrived there were notices reading: "Noise limit 115dB". But after a short time these were replaced by other notices reading: "Unsilenced". There was no noise testing in evidence at all, so all the Panigales with Termis etc were OK. But that is very exceptional these days.
just rode at snetterton on the 29th. 749s with half system termi, he passed me at 102db but said i would get pinged down the straight (did i f*ck!). i find them very inconsistant there, you could pass one day but not the next. best take standard cans or baffles just incase.
Agree with the above - did Snett last year on my 749R and they measured it at 107dB whereas at Brands it will pass the 105dB test easy.
