SOLD Hi, Specialised Globe hybrid road bike for sale. Excellent condition includes upgraded saddle, mudguards, 8-speed hub centre gears (possible carbon forks - but not certain of that). Great commuter bike, just can't get to live with its geometry and sticking with my road bike only. A quick Google reveals you can buy new for £269.00. Anyway, as I tell the MAMIL's at work when they are selling there last unwanted £3000 push rod as they have just paid £4000 for a new one: all second hand bikes are worth £40 (if the work) - no matter how much someone was ripped off when new. The MAMIL's will be along soon to ridicule me once more
A quick google showed everything from £300 ish to £700 ish. Fleabay has them from about £150 2nd hand. End of the day, it is a decent commuter bike with the more expensive 8 speed shimano hub gears as opposed to derailleur gears. People will pay what they think it is worth, and that's where the value lies. Anybody wanting to make an offer not based around wotsits, haribo, blackie eggs, etc, will be given a polite reply. Don't reckon its a MAMiL bike, not expensive enough, though (I am way too tight to splash the sort of cash those chaps do). Pete
Hoping to reach beyond MA before it kicks in, although the buzz is addictive, and being a bit of an exercise junkie, I do ride to work (when at the office) on my road bike, but wear baggy stuff over the biffon-saver shorts.
