You get the pipes done?... Any photo's??... Mine need sent off again... Do NOT use ZIP BBQ polish on anything.. It literally strips the finish & in the space of 20 seconds I undid about £120 worth of ceramic coating!
Swit-swooo look at you!!.... Looks really nice mate... Turbo black or Satin?.. I've had CC do several systems for me & found that Satin was the darker finish... Strong as hell too, aside from the polish disaster mine have stood up to a busy season without a chip.
Turbo black. Matches the rest of the bike really. Except the wheels which I think i will repaint next. After Chris at CJS has done his thing.
Either way she looks mint... I think they do a clear coat for the ceramic now & I may have a punt at that on the re-coating in the closed season.... Ps, pay no mind to claims of reduced heat.. You'll still get a hot arse.. No change there then sweetheart x
Ive heat reflector installed under seat and rear seat unit. Its only my right leg that will cook now. Plus I may add one of these to the rear pot pipe. Thermo-Tec Clamp-On Exhaust Pipe Heat Shield 6" x 1ft Kit | eBay
How much?!... Thats steep for what it is but a nice idea... Meant to ask is yours the internal coating too?..
Good enough... Be interesting to hear what you have to say after the re-map & what she puts out compared to the many other 1198's CJS are sure to have worked on.. When are you making that long journey South?
Dont worry the results will be posted here. Altho I am more interested in having a smooth and snappy response rather than all out power.
You'll get that for sure.... If she's lean (& there's a good bet she is) adding that extra fuel helps no end in calming things... My throttle was like a switch, something I'd gotten used to & made allowances for but horrible at small throttle openings mid bend.. Map sorted all that plus added a shitload of torque between 3 - 6k... Power gains minimal (about 3bhp) but overall a MUCH smoother delivery & power curve. Best money I've spent on her...
Unfortunately I have a job which requires a stupid amount of hours, sometimes 7 days a week, consistently switching between night and day shifts, travelling all over the continent. So riding the bike isn't always an option! It has done 14,000 miles though and it's a 2010 model so it's not doing bad!
