does anyone ever sell their abba stand? i've used mine with every bike i've owned since 1998 - just with different size sockets or extension bars to stick in the frame.
@abmatt2002 was trying to get rid of one I think, but I have a feeling it was missing some of the fittings. Worth a punt though. If not, they'll be at Motorcycle live, probably with a good promotion
Thanks, took the plunge and just bought one. They were going for £60 on eBay so by the time I got the correct fitting kit and £20 on petrol to fetch it was almost the same as buying a new one.
A bit late now but there was a UK company that made what effectively is\was a replica of what became the ABBA stand. A few years back I got one on eBay for £0.99p, best £1 I have spent!!!!!!
CR. I'd buy a normal paddock stand too. Coz they is a 60sec job whereas the abba is more like 5mins. Sometimes you just need a quick lift. Also check out the ABBA front wheel lifter adapter. I have one and its excellent. My 916 has been on one for a few months whilst I work on the front. It lifts the front clear off the ground.
Cheers guys. I will get a front lift at some point and the option to take the swing arm out. Ordered the Abba on Tue at 8pm and it was delivered at 9:15 this morning. How good is that. It's also awesome.
I sold my ABBA stand after it chipped all the paint on the frame where it slots in on my old 996BP.You have to be very careful and accurate when slotting the stand into place. You would have thought it would be a good idea to coat the ABBA adapter sockets to make them less harsh on the bikes frame paint finish. Not sure if the new ones have changed at all as mine was a few yrs back.
Also, I thought you could lift the front wheel by pushing down on the back? Or does that require the front lift adapter?
A car trolley jack does a better job on the front as it's far more adjustable. Just use a small block of wood between the engine/exhaust pipe.
