My mate had one of those! Nice bikes. I am sometimes tempted by a Griso but can't put my finger on why! RB
Al, shot in the dark, but me and a mate went down to see this this guy last year who had one very similar to the above photo, it was missing the fairing tho as far as I remember. Is that paint stock? Coz if not you might be on to summat?? SBVClassics - Ivybridge Maybe worth the price of the call at least ... good luck
I will give them a call or an email.........Thanks. Paint on mine definitely wasn't OEM....... Mine had gold wheels instead of silver; gunmetal/silver frame instead of black and was fitted with Lanfranconi zorsts; Marzocchi reservoir rear shocks; Air assisted front forks; polished front fork legs instead of black; polished alternator cover instead of black plastic, etc etc etc. I sold it to Mottingham Motorcycles in say, 1985 on a whim for a really good price (with all the OEM parts, too). It has been untaxed for years though, so I suspect it got pranged and left in a cupboard afterwards.
It was the paint on the tank that rung the bells, the gold wheels are saying something too ... the bike was definitely complete and as far as I'm aware a runner. I'm not positive but at that time I think he was asking circa £3k ish, summer 2013. I can't vouch for the overall condition but it was 'used' bordering scruffy. He had a 500 pantah at the same time ... I'm not a betting man Al, but I'll have a tenner with you, either that or the tank has been rescued!! Was it a mk2/3?
It were a Mk 2. I fitted a Stucchi fairing which I had modified so it had lowers which could be taken off for cleaning and servicing, otherwise it was a pig to remove for simple jobs. Anyway...Looks like you were right about spotting it, Greyman........Sold to a guy in New Zealand last year...... Bollox..............
only really miss this one, my 1970 lambretta GP200 pictured over the isle of wight scooter rally in 1984 , me and her traveled all over the country , been searching for her for a while on the scooter forums, still taxed and now red according to DVLA , built it from a bare frame & box of bits
Nice looking scooter Kev. In all my 55 years I have never ridden one - though to be fair, it would have been very hard for me to do so in my very early years Something to do before I die then. RB
RB ,born into it in 1979 what with quadrophenia film coming out and all that, we had fizzys and i had an suzuki AP50 , then we all got scooters, had them for years after that then got a bike in 94 after having a go on a GSXR1100 , blew me away, new i had to have a bike so been riding them ever since, having to odd scooter as well as bikes, not much room in my garage with 2 ducatis, my mv agusta & KTM , but still a big soft spot for lambrettas and would love that one back if i could find it, me and it had a lot of history & good times
pike nuts, and the chrome tow ball cover on the engine bolt, must have accessories in the 80s lol and a mickeck exhaust & 34 mil amal ; )
34mm magnesium amal powerjet to be precise. Which if we are honest sprayed more juice on the inside of our legs than anything else. (until we got reed valves on the ts1) chrome tow bar cover...lol btw I bet your headlight bezel was threaded and rawl plugs used instead...every gp was like that. Combats and deck shoes...just noticed that too.
yep threads knackered lol, yep that was me , combats & cardigan and normally Moccasins , those where the days, didnt give a rats arse, just out for a good time & laugh
