Hi, Looking at buying a Carbon Monoposto seat unit for a 748 I've just bought. I've found a nice one though a tad pricey! My question is the one I've seen has no vents on it, are the vents needed on a 748? Thank you
The vents are not needed at all and the one you have seen is probably modelled on or from an 998R. There are two shapes but both are ventless. I use a 998RS carbon race seat on my 748R engined 748S or a Carbon Kevlar version of the same and both provide no problems and neither have vents. I don't doubt that the vents might let out some heat but not enough to make much difference.
Keep an eye on the for sale section, bits like that seem to come up quite regular. Or even post in "wanted".
