Change The Gear Lever Position (hyper Sp). Possible?

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by pisquano, Jan 20, 2015.

  1. having moved to the Hyper from a Monster 796 I could use with having the lever set a bit higher, as I find it a bit hard to pull it up from 1st to 2 gear, especially using winter boots (I have the Alpinestars Toucan)

    is this possible at all?
    thanks

  2. Probably done this already, but I adjusted both the brake and gear lever up to fit my huge adventure boots. Just need to remove the nut and bolt from the rod, and wind in or out to suit. Helps if you have someone to hold the bike (or a stand) so you can get a good feel for where you want the lever and reassemble. Trial and error got it right for me on both sides.

If this isn't what you were after, sorry :)

  3. Yes thanks that's what I meant. I tweaked it already and it works well with some motorbike shoes. But I still find it challenging with adventure boots

  4. What boots do you use?

  5. I have some Forma Adventure boots, really comfy and definitely waterproof. Massive though. So comfy they have actually replaced my walking shoes on some really tough
    walks.
Yeah it took a bit of tweaking and I probably compromise a lot with my foot position but i seems to work for me. I took the rubbers off the footpegs too and that gave it a bit more room. Hardest with these boots is putting toe on the peg, I end up resting my heel on the passenger peg rest.

  6. Just got my hm sp and I'm struggling with the gear change, seems way to low for my liking, gonna try and raise it. Cheers

  7. On the subject of gear changes, does anyone else get a few false neutrals now and again? I keep thinking it's my shifting but would be interesting if anyone else gets this on the 821.
