Ive just noticed that my oil level window is full of 'mayo' so took the filler plug off, and that is covered as well. Im guessing that the rain is getting in through the exposed sponge at the front of the airbox? Is this a common thing? Any ideas? Thanks
Thanks for the reply. I didnt expect it to be condensation. My RC8 doesnt seem to suffer the same problem, and its parked next to the 'strada. Whats the little sponge bit to the right of the bike, below the rad' ? I know its not the main airbox / airfilter housing. Seems daft whatever its for, as its so exposed to the front wheel...
You on about the opening to the cambelt covers , if water gets in there it won't get into the engine anyhow . Have you been using the bike much , have you been starting it for a little while if it's been stood , but not getting it up to temp . Like the other member said probably condensation in motor .
My hyper sp has done this when stood for a while then started, once it's done a few miles and got hot it's fine
Bike has been used every other day for a half hour commute and back. Never had this problem with my other bikes, and I ride all year round. I'll keep an eye on it and see what happens......
Yeah, same on mine when I used it for odd short journeys in the cold. Nothing to worry about so sayeth the great Ducati. It doesn't happen in the summer anyway.
