Thinking Of Buying A 1100 Hyper

  1. Hello, just joined the forum. I'm after some advice on a hyper I'm currently looking at buying.

It's a 2009, 1100, in white with 6500 miles. It's got full service history stamped in the book but no recipts of belts being done. The last service was done at 5250 miles in April last year. I've agreed a deal at the dealer but it's a Triumph dealer not Ducati.
(Suffolk Triumph - Lyngs) The deal is to have the 7500 mile service done and belts changed. Is this ok to be done at a triumph dealer or does it need to be done properly at Ducati? Anything that can't be done (and needs to be done) by a non Ducati dealer?

It's also quite rough/lumpy at lows revs, is this normal for these air cooled lumps?

Other than that the bikes looks and runs great!

    Thanks

  2. Not a tough job to change the belts so if you trust the dealer then sure, for me it would depend on the dealer.

I had a M1100 with the same engine and yes, they are somewhat lumpy and agricultural at low revs: Character. Get a 14T front sprocket if it doesn't already have one fitted. Helps with town riding.

  3. Welcome Dave :)

  4. Ps introduce yourself properly in the newbies section. :upyeah:

  5. Belt change is pretty straightforward and whilst the miles are low I think they recommend every 2 years for the belts so worth getting done asap to avoid a nasty mess... Hope you enjoy the hyper and welcome aboard.
