Hypermotard 1100 Evo

  1. Not really sure at the moment but I thought id test the water as it were....as documented in the build area ive also acquired a KTM525 supermoto which is very close riding position to the hyper so I thought id go for a naked. Ideally id love a 1098 Streetfighter - if anyone wants to PX that would be perfect...alternatively I would be looking at a z1000 or Speed Triple but a Duc would be the primary...

    Hypermotard 1100evo 11 plate.
    Stainless Race headers just fitted
    Termi Tail
Covered in various bits of bling
id rough guess at 80% of fittings replaced with stainless or Titanium - the big stuff like caliper bolts, rear pinch bolts are titanium.
    Hel Brake and clutch lines
    Oberon Slave cylinder
    Tail tidy
Stainless steel custom rear mudguard as the stock one is shite.
    Rizoma rear indicators
    Carbon front nose/Beak
    Carbon rear grabrail cover.
Also lots of stuff has been recoated as the stock coating wasn't very good - those parts include, rear subframe, front brake line guide, lower radiator mount.
    Ducati performance seat.
Heavy duty starter cables (twice as thick as stock)
    Ohlins rear shock.
Drilled airbox (just prior to the dyno work)
Roadlok on the front disc....they don't sell them anymore in the uk but essentially its a disc lock bolted to the front caliper and all you need to carry yourself is just the pin. Best lock ive ever had - and theyre bloody expensive...

I do have quite a lot of the stock stuff but not all of it, from memory...
    Seat
    Bodywork
    Exhaust
    Stock Tail tidy

Mileage is around 8.7k (haven't checked the exact amount) MOT is up in early april but ill probably get it done early

Theres loads of other stuff that ive probably forgotten about. It never gets knowingly used in the wet, ive got a car and 2 other bikes so the usage on it is low. Its been totally reliable and never missed a beat. Mileage may go up but im not planning on using it for the next few weeks at least. Its meticulously cleaned and well looked after, last oil change was 1k ago with fully synthetic oil + filter change.

7.5k - its probably close dealer price but for that youd probably get something pretty stock - everything (within reason) has been done to this to give it performance, resistance to the elements and good fuel economy. Been out on it twice since the stainless headers were added the performance increase is incredible. Its not going on ebay at the moment as I cant be arsed to pay to listen to people offering me bugger all for it when im not really sure if I want to get rid of it yet as its the most fun bike ive ever had...

  4. I gave £7500 for my 11 plate evo sp 5500 miles single termi , de cat down pipes bit more carbon ,open clutch , from a dealer .... just as a guide . I've had a 1098 sf , more power for sure , suspension more sports bike like , more suited for smoother faster roads , where as hyper more a back lane scratcher , poping wheelies and stuff .... more fun ... but just my opinion .
The hypers a hard bike to replace , it's the only bike I've had where I've sold it realised I made a mistake and then bought another one .
The 525 will be a blast for a few miles out around the back lanes but any longer rides the smaller Motos run out of puff and it feels like your flogging them all the time , I've had a few motos ..... 3 cr500s , ktm 640, ktm 660 , ktm 690 , husaberg 650
I would say keep the hyper till the 525 is done then decide if it will fill the gap of the hyper

  5. Cool.... bit less then....its not so much the speed thing but more the riding style....im so 50 50 i just got an air filter kit plus its getting a new tyre tomorrow.....second hyper for me as well...as I said ive got the "tard" now and the hyper is just a bigger one - had I have been forced into selling the ktm then the hyper would stay with me. Period. I think It could be because im not on it that much at the moment, (ive been taking someone to work in the car with me for the last 3 months so its not been used) but that'll be ending next week and ill be back on it, coupling that with the addition of the airfilter kit and going back on the dyno to get it all set up might/probably will swing me - I might put it on ebay with more of a slant to a swap/px, something id prefer as less money changes hands then. There is a an SF1098 on ebay at the moment for 7k and im surprised that's not been snapped up...although saying that I still like the Z1000's used to have one a few years back and I really liked it.
