Hi all I've just bought a 1098s today with standard cans and wonders what's best for bike have saw the pack terms, filter and ecu is that best option
Good choice, it would take something very special to make me swap mine. Before spending any money on Termis, the best money you can spend is having the suspention set up properly for you as the rider. Makes the whole riding experience 100% better and more enjoyable. If you want Termis at a latter date, then get them. I would recommend getting a Full system rather than just end cans....................then getting the bike set up on a dyno and mapped.
Suspension set up is only £100 so you can do that and Termi's at the same time but I suggest you look arround, there are much better quality systems out there. In my opinion the Termi's are poorly made for the price you pay. There is a company called BR Special Tuning they seem to do some reasonable deals on systems. My 848 Streetfighter Slip on Termis £1200 I bought Arrows from these people brand new boxed £400 and sound just as good. The only thing with the other systems is you don't get a dedicated ECU so you will need it remapped. Bear this in mind though, you buy a full system termi you get air filter and ECU thing is the ecu is not bespoke to your bike it is only a generic for that style of bike with those type of cans so really it would still need a remap to get full benefit of exhaust hence why I say look around for another system as most are far better quality and normally cheaper.
ive saw on ebay someone selling the termis/filter/ecu new for £590? so there not worth it a power commander much better option then?
@ that price they are worth it at new price from dealers they were approx £2400 for 1199. I think new Termi's from dealer for 1098 are the same 2.5k So that is a bargain on ebay mate do it. Bazazz or rapid bike make something similar to power commander and from what I have heard are better.
Dont bother buying a ECU or PC spazzaz etc - get original ECU mapped - CJS RACING Motorcyle Dyno Tuning ECU ReMapping Superbikes
I know the throttle positioning has to be reset but I am not sure how to go about it, it depends on if bike has ride by wire, not sure about the specs on the 1098 sorry can't help you there.
The rapid bike system is adaptive mate it is constantly reading the bike and changing the mapping to suit sounds like a good way to go but need to do some more homework/research on it.
Let us know, the PC one is poor and the bazazz I played with on a dyno was not impressive. Not had any experience with rapid bike. And my friendly dyno has moved to Ducati Beverly Hills (twat)
My local dealer, well the Ducati mechanic went and had a look at the system and he really rated it as syncs in with the TC and other electronics on the Panni, I am interested in the cost, if it works out the same as a bespoke map it might be the way to go as in theory it should be near perfect fuelling at all revs in all gears
Do an over night stop mate cheap B&B drop bike off when you get down there say 12ish and hopefully get it back 12ish the following day. Obviously you will need to book in with them
There's NO ONE near north wales anymore - I am based in Chester/Mold. I now travel to Bristol for ECU work.
just after good running and nice sound not after big power upgrades as on road will never benefit from them
A few places around for parts and standard servicing - moto R in Ruithin and Woods in Abergele and those russians in manchester.
