Like I say thinking of replacing my RSV1000-Factory (07) with a 899, whilst trawling the adds and this forum I'm thinking what are the desirable/necessary mods to have? Thanks in advance.
Depends where you're going to ride it most I suppose, if you're going to spend a lot of time on the continent then LHD and Air-con make sense
not really a mod, but best thing i did with my 899 was chop it in for a 1199. only joking there great bikes
Oberon Foot pegs as the stock ones are shite especially when wet, tail tidy as the original is horrid and if you do that 1199 led rear indicators, removal of passenger pegs, termi's, seat cowl and that's enough to get you started
Mine has termis ,seat cowl ,smaller plate ,frame plugs ,dp comfort seat ,tailtidy ,rad guards , and I'm still to get new pegs if not rear sets and I like the look of the rizoma reservoirs and some smaller leavers oh and a dp race screen where do you stop,,
After having the RSV Factory I would say best mod is buying the 1199, you will find the 899 under powered compared to the RSV I reckon.
I'm talking a 2007 RSV factory so less power and the 899 should be better power to weight.... Interesting though.....
My 2011 848 Evo listed HP 140, 2013 899 listed HP 150, I still state my 848 felt a lot gruntier than the 899
I know that, the 899 is very linear almost too smooth, I missed the grunt on my old 848 Evo, decided to swap the 899 in for the 1199 and I am a lot happier. In fact I am ecstatic the 1199 is proper mental however I have also been lucky to acquire an 848 Evo two weeks ago so I am doubly ecstatic.
