I have just been reading up on crankshaft end float and methods of measurement on Ducati's and came across this comment on the Ducati.MS forum. It seems that Royal Purple is quite a decent oil if the comments are to be believed. Does anyone have any experience of using this oil which does appear to be available in the UK. Royal Purple Quite possibly this oil is meant more (only) for motorsport than road use but as I use my bike on trackdays I was wondering if this could be an advantage. No doubt it's expensive so if anyone knows a price I'd be interested as I cannot find one quoted on their website. They do sell motorcycle based lubricants but again I can't find any information on what grades etc. are available. "Also (without seeming demeaning here) the quality of oil when running tight tolerences is paramount...(I say this for the benefit of others)..I use Royal Purple and I have to tell you this stuff is freaky. I have been using it for years based on what I witnessed while crewing for a buddy who races top fuel harley. 200" engines on fuel most of which need bearing changes after every race. He started running Royal P and he would go almost whole seasons without any bearin replacement and this stuff did not break down when polluted with nitro ! I am sold. "

I used Royal Purple oil in my old Supra, it stood up to hard use in a fairly high boost engine on track very well. No experience with it in a bike though.
