My 1998 748 has no oil cooler and as other models do have them is it a worthwhile addition or should I leave well alone. The bike is for keeps. Steve
I would fit one......but given the variations seen on here, it gives you a good opportunity to come up with a really useful and sensible solution..... AL.
Birdie, you don't need it for road use and it is a vulnerability as well as a maintenance and weight issue so IIWY I wouldn't bother. If you do decide to get one see if you can get one off a breaking 748r
if you have a water cooled engine, as you do, I would seriously consider fitting one of the much later coolers which are also fed by the main coolant system rather than rely on an oil to air cooler. The reality is that where the cooler is on the duke engine it really does bugger all other than radiate. It doesn't get any appreciable airflow as such under the front cylinder.
