I must say it is a bit unnerving not having a tax disc - I had to check mine the other day as I couldn't remember, it was taxed though. I guess you are relying on an e-mail reminder or you have to set a reminder yourself - easily overlooked I guess.
Taxed the zed the other night....the green slip that I had when I switched the v5 over didn't work....website said no, there was an error and id have to use the v5 which I didn't have. Ironically the next day (yesterday) it turned up, so I used, that, taxed it but the website said "youre out by a month" you may get a call from the dvla....now correct me if im wrong, but I tried to tax it, it said no, said use the v5 which I was waiting for and did the day it turned up....so that's their fault....but ill probably get had up for it....shitter...
That's ok then....it might be a case of them seeing that if people are out by a month then they let it slide - or that's how id like to think it goes...
