Gillette Moment

  1. Yesterday, decided to go stretch the legs of the 1098 and clear off the cobwebs. Wow, this thing feels different to the 848, daft grunt and warp speed in a twist, but at the same time as I am grinning I am also afraid too, this thing scares me, the noise alone turns heads and gives me the goosebumps, heady intoxication, I feel naughty but need more. BWAAARRPP we are off, dancing, nothing can stand in our way, she is coursing through my veins now, starting to relax and enjoy her a little.

Derby, Lincoln, Tuxford and then it is Newark for a brew and a breather. Time to return. Thurgarton and then Southwell see me almost home, riding safely and at pace going past the garden centre I am cautious as many a happy planter has decided to pull out at this location and reduce me to some strong expletives, good we are past, minding my own business and starting to reflect on the ride I notice a red thing on my side of the road coming straight for me, oh dear, the stupid girl manages to make eye contact with me as we pass with inches to spare between us. I am shaken. Straight piece of road, no hazards apart from someone taking their eye off the ball momentarily. That would have been it, no doubt.

I feel that sharing this with you somehow helps me to come to terms with the risks that we take out there, so I ask for forgiveness in advance if this post is not to your liking. Thank you.

  4. I can well believe it Andy
    Life flashes before your eyes
I remember seeing a car pulling out onto dual carriage way i accelerated to go past as she pulled a across into the next lane for no reason apart from talking to her passenger
Had to slam the anchors on!!
She was oblivious but it does make for a twitchy moment

  5. That is the scary thing Duccers, I didn't have time to even think about braking before it was all over.

  6. Oh blimey someone was looking after you

It does make you remember how vulnerable we are out there and equally some horrendous drivers and I have to say a lot of women
