Has anyone changed the chain on their bike? I am sick of the OEM shite that has rusted after 600 miles. I love my Duke.... but.... rode a S1000RR demonstrator today - bike too bland for me, but bearing in mind it's been taken out in all weather and thrashed, it was immaculate. Still looked spankers after 1200 miles without a spot of rust or corrosion. They may have been through "the blander", but they're well built!
Definitely not over cleaned. Not even seen a drop of rain either. I've always hated Ducati stock lube (whatever it is) as it flings a lot too. Thinking about it, I remember my 848 was just the same. Thanks for the DID tip. Guessing X-ring?
Thanks for that. Perfect. I'll look into now! Wouldn't it be mint if there was a mobile fitting service in York? You're so right about the QC bit too... as I mentioned, for just a couple of £k more you could buy the quality BMW! Still love my Duke though!
Changed mine to Renthal gold chain & sprockets - pleased with result, fed up with the stock chain just seemed to get rusty stood still after lube & the rear sprocket black paint came off!
Just under £200 fitted, worth every penny! It's 1/3 lighter as well apparently. Rust free biking for a while
Looks nice. I'll probably just do the chain as the sprocket is so new and hasn't lost its paint. How many links were in the chain? Does that sprocket have the same number of teeth as the original one?
