Hello all, Bought a HM shifter second hand that was fitted to an 848 and would like to fit it to my 1098SFS. Rod lemgth perfect but where do I plug all the bloody wires? Where are they hid. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I start pulling bits apart.. Thanks Greg
Howdo Greg, I'm no expert (In the process of fitting one to my Superlight) so hopefully one will be along soon. On mine I had an earth and then two connectors per coil (I had to alter my plugs due to a different loom) I removed the coil connector & fitted the relevant HM connector, then fitted the connector I removed from the coil into the other HM connector. Job done. However mine has the integrated gearshift, not sure if yours has any additional connectors. Thanks Pablo, Think I have worked it out. Will have a look this wkend and if I suceed I will post some pics. Cheers Greg
Good you can tell me how you get on. I've playing round with the kill time today, seems to be working but having never used a QS not sure if it's set 100%. Also need to get in me head not to roll off on the throttle . Cheers Pablo
Job done, just needed to find the plugs hidden behind the frame. Took about an hour and was a doddle really. Fitted it inversed to start with as I prefer but did't work! Sensor works only in tension. Switched to standard pattern and it worked spot on. Didn't adjust any settings as it was already fitted to an 848. Had 1/2 ride and it was great...why didn't I fit one earlier :frown: Changes so smooth and acceleration seamless. Cheers Greg
That's the joy of HM and Ducati, coil top plugs are on fly leads so easy to do unlike Jap fours etc! If you have any problems with your HM drop me a PM or post up and I will be happy to help, I am a dealer for HM Quickshifters...
