ive just bought my 1100s and the dash LCD doesn't work as its smashed the previous owner removed it and cracked it. I'm looking for a secondhand dash or the LCD part. There is 1 on eBay but it's in the usa, my local Ducati dealer tell me I can't swap LCD screens and they want to charge me £650+£70 to replace the dash and programme it. Anyone know anything about these dash's? Second i want to do the cambelt myself(I'm a fully qualified technician) do I need special tools and where is best place to buy new belt? Cheers guys
I'm not sure but i think you have got to change the dash/locks/ keys as a complete set if its like the 1098? you may have to have the ECU done as well, Chrisw on the forum is a mind of tech information! he may be able to know more
If you buy a second hand dash make sure it comes with at least one key. The code card would be nice but not essential as keys can be cloned. The chip from the key can then be swapped into an original key. The only contact I have to recode second hand dashes is in OZ. Google 'Riderlogic'. It is not cheap but does work out cheaper than a new dash. Another Dash specialist is Motomatrix in Wales, again Google will find them, they may be able to help. The immo on your bike is only in the dash, you do not have to do anything with the ECU.
I had heard the immo was the dash so while I had it disconnected I tried starting it and it started. Weird but thanks for the info I'll start googling
For now it doesn't stop me using it so I'll just enjoy the rest of the bike. Can anyone tell me where the diagnostic plug is?
Think it is on the right side of the bike close to where the ECU is. 3 way Superseal connector with a cap on it
What Chris said. Take the right-hand panel off (after taking the tank panel off) and it's next to the ECU.
