As my bike comes down to idle it makes (every now and again) a strange clatter which sounds like something metal hitting something else metal. It happens three times in succession then just normal sounds. I believe it is coming from the inside of the clutch cover, or very close to there, could it just be a loose clutch spring hitting the cover? Are they quite close? I do plan to get an open cutch cover soon, hopefully that will cure it. Could it be anything more sinister?
Hi Pavey, i had a similar noise when i first got my 1198 it turned out to be the basket had worn away the worst ive seen, replaced the basket and plates all cleared, dont forget i have a plate and clutch cover in parts for sale
i have the same problem, but i only had my clutch out yesterday and it looked fine. though i did get my leathers caught in my open clutch earlier.. then after a couple of miles i had the horrible clutter noise coming down into first gear. what should i do?
I think its something to do with the timing, rathe than a clutch issue. Its as if the engine speeds up suddenly. Probably wrong though.
