Done a search but cant find the answer im looking for when ive removed the fuel lines the petrol seems to keep flowing out of the tank, will this eventually stop or will i need to drain the tank/plug it up ? Cheers
They can flow quite a bit before they stop. Occasionally they do keep weeping though. If there's a lot of fuel in the tank, the pressure from the weight of fuel can keep it leaking. I'd drain it. Makes handling the tank a lot easier as it's a bitch to get off the frame anyhow. If you've not done it already, don't forget to cut the cable ties around the loom on the forward LHS, near the fuse boxes.
Mine only leaked a little bit when I removed them, they leaked a lot more when I started the bike after I put them back on wrongly! Workshop manual here with all the steps: http://www.madcogz.com/MSTD1200s/wsm/en/home.html
When refitting the tank connectors pop a bit of Vaseline on the rubber O-rings. It will save you messing them up by tearing them :Bawling:
