998 998 Integrated Indicators Fitting Instructions?

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by THJ, Jul 7, 2015.

  1. I just tried to fit one of the 998 integrated indicator/rear light units...

The wiring is different and after an hour of fiddling, I can't seem to get a correct combination where all functions work properly.

Has anyone fitted them or got copy of instructions?

I've given up for the evening and gone to pub :) will try again tomorrow, but any help will save me some time. Cheers.

  2. You may need ballast resistors to get the indicators to work, assuming the flasher unit and blink rate are correct as I assume it uses LED's?

You can change the wiring to match the original Ducati setup if need be. This also probably the best idea as it allows you to put the stock setup back on more easily. The integrated rear light flasher setup is not legal and will not pass an MOT, so you would at least need to change back to the original setup come MOT time.

An alternative is to use all clear lenses and coloured bulbs. I use these on my 998 and have done for years and I have no problems come MOT time.
