My Desmosedici went in for it's final "free" service before the warranty expires. Spoke to JHP Saturday, and she should be coming home this week. I also had them fit the race exhaust and Ecu at the same time. Can't wait to try it out with the new exhaust, should also run a lot cooler as the cat has now been removed, so no longer cooking my leg.
I'd sacrifice a cooked leg to own a desmo. Come to think of it I'd cook a few other items to own one too:biggrin: Matt
Got stuck in traffic leaving Silverstone WSBK last season and it actually scorched my leg so that it was sore for a day or two, through leathers ! Ducati clearly didn't envisage/care about getting caught in traffic when they positioned the cat with no heatshield. Doesn't detract from ownership, but will be nice not to have it, plus the extra noise and BHP of course.
Pop down to Suffolk one sunday for a ride out on proper roads Steve....you wont get a burnt leg either !
Three years and only just put the race can on... Tut tut tut.. is it not that you would want to add the stock can at this point...lol
Been contemplating fitting open system for a while, but dithered too much. This year/service thought sod it and had it done. As for the servicing costs, trying not to think about that too much at the mo.
Had my pipes on from day one, don't get me wrong it's bloody loud but it still burns your left leg is pootling/stuck in traffic
If I remember right, the FULL service requires them all to be changed (I think, dont know why?) They are £30.00 x 16 (closer) and £27.00 x 16 (opener) so thats £912.00 JUST for Shims thats nothing else.! Ouch!
must be better heat wise without the cat, but some cooking is inevitable as the pipe work runs so close to your legs. According to Ducati it's around 102DB, which is about same as my 998. Sod the neighbours.
Pardon ?? Bike is all done, but JHP reckon they can't get a van to get it back to me until the 16th. Think I'll have to go pick it up, 'cos can't wait that long.
Steve...I'll be down in Coventry next week.....just as easy to go in my race van if you want it collected ?
You're both too kind. It's also a good excuse for me to go and have a drool at all the bikes, but thanks for the offers.
Was going to go tomorrow (wed), but it's meant to be pissing down all day, so may well leave it until Thursday
