The clutch centre will rotate about 5 degrees to release the compression on the plates and then back again. It will do this as often and as quickly as it needs to keep the rear wheel from locking up. This will probably result in a "feel" through the clutch lever and if you don't wear ear plugs, you are likely to briefly hear a similar rattle as when you pull the clutch in at stand still. You may also hear a clicking. All this is normal but if you are hearing anything radically different you may need to look at the plate arrangement. Andy
It's only done it twice, once on each of my last 2 rides towards the start , maybe 10 or 15 mins in. Changing down gears and letting the clutch out I heard a "Cherrrrinng" not as strong or violent as with a "K", definitely a softer "ch" metal rattle. Lasted 1 second max each time. Was thinking slipper as if I recall correctly I had pulled clutch in and dropped it 2 (maybe 3)(probably 2) gears and let it out. Both times dropping from 60(ish [emoji10]) to a 30. Does sound a little like clutch plate. It's not the kind of noise I'd like to try to recreate to be honest. I don't ride that often, once a month at best. I don't normally hammer down through the gearbox and let the revs rise to use engine braking on the 996 like I used to need to on the IL4.
