doing my head in a little Was running a 19x20 brembo (seals just done) with braided hoses, new fluid bled right thru and new race pads. Std tokia calipers. At the lever there is too much feel and not enough bite, plus at the end if a session lever is back to the bar Changed mc as thought may be that, to a lesser radial (magura 16 bore) but still does it Oh how I wish for Ducati braking performance on my gixer!
Doesn't sound right to me mate. Use Motul RBF 600 and bleed the fucker to death. As you probably know air expands when heated, sounds to me like you have air. Bleed the m/c too, put a cable tie around the brake lever and leave it overnight regardless of whether you can bleed the m/c separately. Tap the lines, calipers, and m/c when you're bleeding too - somehow helps the air move by disturbing it. Did you work out the ratio of the m/c piston to the total calipers piston area? Maybe it's a high number (30+) - if so you'll always have more feel vs braking but sorting the other stuff will stop that crazy shit you mentioned from happening - fuckin dangerous that mate.
Mate suggested taking calipers off and hanging upside down in case air trapped there so thats first on list. Also the system had synth fluid in it, I have bled thru about 5 pots worth to clear system before back to normal race fluid. I'm going to bleed right thru again just in case, and put the brembo back on
Take the calipers off, jam the pistons right back in, lash the brake lever right back as far as it will go, then crack the bleed nipple on the caliper.......that method should put enough blast of new fluid though the calipers to clear any old stuff in there.
Suspect either contaminated fluid (synth and non synth mixing somewhere) or caliper related. These calipers are fairly known for being a weak-spot Have to say, its been like that since the day I bought it and have done a dozen trackdays, new good pads, rebuilt MC and changed MC, bled system at least twice with all new fluid. Also get a hint of what looks like condenstation on the MC pipe and have replaced the pipe, less so now I have koved and have a dry garage
I jumped off my K6 and onto a panigale 899 and wow! My multi makes them feel like a single disc mito! Lol
