Not sure if it was anybody on here but a group of us (6) where leaving Helmsley a couple of weeks ago (sunday) and there was a group of middle aged guys on aprilia rsv/rsv4 duke 848/gixxer 1000 etc and they came past us as we headed out towards Stokesly. A few miles in and a chap on a white 848 puts it into a fence on the outside of a right hander. Just wanted to know that he was ok (he was when we left) and the bike got home ok? Anybody know anthing?
Don't know about the incident but just wanted to say that I love the A1281 between Stokesley and Helmsley. Used to ride it regularly when I lived up there. It was a road that needed to be learnt. The accidents that used to happen usually involved those that didn't know the road and were sucked into thinking they could ride it like a bat out of hell (which you could if you knew it inside out). Ps. Hope the rider was ok.
Think I might have been the middle aged guy on the red 848 with mates on the Aprillia and Gixxer. We headed back on the B1527 towards Stokesley but the white 848 wasn't with us and I don't remember seeing him. That was a glorious day weather wise but I did notice some damp patches on the road under the trees following the downhill section. Hope he's OK. Anth is from Hartlepool and has a white 848 but I suspect he knows that stretch like the back of his hand. Anth - that wasn't you was it?
