1200 DVT 600 Mile Trip To Wales And Back 2 Observations

  1. As the thread title suggests.....

5 hours of honking down rain today from West Wales to Northants and Rukka suit and TCX boots are 99% waterproof, very impressive, but not my main observations.

1st is, start of the journey I try to adjust the left mirror stalk and it flops loose and can't be hand tightened. Look in the under seat toolkit and there isn't an allen key to tighten it. When I got home and tightened it, it's really easy to pull it loose by hand again. Suggest that allen key is kept under the seat.......

2nd one is somewhat bigger. Coming off the dual carriageway slipway and braking for the traffic lights, hit what I assume is a patch of diesel and lose the back wheel. The front starts to fold but the bike regains grip. Now I'm sure my years of riding skills had something to do with not binning it but am sure the traction control, ABS and all the other gizmos made a difference.

    Thank you Ducati.

  2. When I collected mine, before I rode off the ns mirror needed adjusting and went floppy.

Ducati electronics. Another reason why the premium is worth paying

  3. Too right re the electronics. Not sure what's the best plan with the mirror stalk though....can't seem to lock it tight enough, but time will tell.

  4. Reckon the best way is to hold the stem when adjusting the mirror, as its different to old multi

    Not ideal while riding :Banghead:

And seems they can put a locator pin on the clutch etc to stop you making it comfy and where it should be (closer to the end of the bar) but not the mirror stem

  5. Add me to the list of floppy mirrors, happened to me when 300 miles from home, easy fix but like you now carry an Allen key

  6. Me too; lose mirror and have added another Allen key to the tool kit. I wonder why they changed the mirror design for the 2015 model - I had no issues with the original design.

  7. Disagree. The 2010-14 mirror design is not as good. But it still ought to be spring-loaded so it folds back if it hits something, then resumes its correct position.

  8. +1 with near side mirror, came loose on Rider's demo when I had a test ride. Thought it was a one off, obviously not.
No problem on my 13 though.

  9. My 13 did it a few times too
