I use copilot on the iphone. You can plan a route using google maps and earth and export it as a .kml file. Then use ITN converter (shareware) to export the route as a .trp file Then use a neat bit of software called iExplorer to place the .trp file in the iExplorer\DeaksiPhone\Apps\CoPilot EU\Documents\EU\save folder (you cannot do this through windows explorer or iTunes). Then in Copilot just load the route from the menu. Works a treat HTH Deaks
Does the TomTom 400 not allow you to mount the storage directly as the v2 does. I used to just drop Itinerary files into the folder, so again no messing round with the SD card. I've been pleased with my v2 it's still going strong and tire provides all the mapping functionality. That said waypoints are a pain if you don't directly pass them, I'm very careful to place them on the correct side of a large motorway otherwise it tries to send you back to them.
How do you do that? It is not possible since that iOS update that changed the iTunes transfers behavior... The developer must allow it now, and Copilot didn't! I am waiting for it to use my iPhone instead of my Android device
Iexplorer is a specific application that lets you browse the iPhone just like a USB drive. I've also used it to put other files in other app folders. I'm running the latest iOS public beta 9.1
I know the app, I use it since iPhone 4, but I really can't make it work since that update. I just tried to be sure, it is not viewing folders of the apps, at least the ones that didn't enable the iTunes transfer... I am running the latest stable iOS version...
Gents, can any of you using iPhone apps tell me which you can recommend for use in Europe, without any data usage. Thanks, Nik
I thought iExplorer (and iMazing, which I was using) stopped working when IOS 8.4 was released. Has this been fixed?
I use Navigon, but it's now a bit pricey for full Europe maps. Copilot seems good value for money. If I was buying now, I'd probably go for that.
RouteConverter will save in all sorts of formats, and remembers the one you last worked with. It's just a case of plotting your route, saving it and transferring it to your device with your software of choice (assuming this last stage still works post ios 8.4). Edited - originally stated itnConverter in error
Right, I remember now. About a month ago I used it to add a Nintendo game Rom to a non Apple Store emulator. That's why I remember it working. It does however only let you browse apps that allow iTunes file transfer (as neo said). This means that copilot need to enable the feature or we can no longer do it. In the past I have used copilots 'add stop' route planning on the phone, but this isn't very good.
